This is my most recent head drawing. It’s obviously unfinished, but I like the progress that I’ve made. I feel like in my full figure drawing class, I’m getting better at finding the shapes of the body. It’s a little harder with the face though. This face was a disaster when I started, but after a little encouragement and direction from my teacher, I feel like it’s come a long way.

I did this head drawing a few weeks ago. I am really bad at drawing profiles, so it was a really big challenge for me. I think it turned out quite well.

This assignment is just another full figure shape drawing. I like this one even better than the last. I really enjoyed finding the shapes and translating them into a figure. I’m seeing progress.

I’ve been working on some full figure drawings in class lately. The assignment is to find the shapes of the figure and compile all those shapes to make a full figure. We’re not supposed to think about an arm or a torso; we’re supposed to think about the shape that makes up those body parts. It’s been a struggle, and I’m now on my fifth of these drawings, but I feel like each one is more successful than the last. I’m not struggling as much to “see” the shapes. My brain is just automatically finding them now. It’s a really interesting process.
